BHIWADI is an growing Industrial Town in Rajasthan situated in the north of the state in Alwar District Bordering Haryana State. It is 75 Kms. From Delhi, the National Capital on Dharuhera - Palwal Road. Infect, Bhiwadi is a Regional Centre /Priority Town of the National Capital Region and from part of the Regional plan 2001 for NCR.

As per cencus of 1981, the population of Bhiwadi was 2602. This figure swelled to 9500 persons in 1991 thus showing an increase of 263% in the Urban Population in Rajasthan, the projected Population of Bhiwadi by 2001 is 1.15 lacs.

BHIWADI has a big location advantages of being very near to Delhi and well connected by National Highway No.8 it is attracting industrialists not only from Delhi but also from Punjab and other part of India. This naturally puts pressure on Housing needs & it was in this context that Rajasthan Housing Board spread its activities in the Industrial town. The various scheme planed and executed/ to be executed by the Board in Bhiwadi are as under:

(a) CHS BHIWADI (OLD): This is the first housing scheme of the Board in the town. The scheme is situated to the north fringing of main Dharuhera – Pawal Road. A total number of 985 houses have been constructed on the land area of 40 acres. Looking to the need of the Industrial workers in the town. 55% of the houses were constructed for the weaker section and the low income group people. Out of 985 houses, 965 houses have handed over.

(b) SCHEME AT SECT. IV & VII: The Board’s Scheme is part of a scheme undertaken by the Urban improvement Trust, Alwar. The houses planed in the Scheme are 862 out of which nearly 53% are of the Low Income Group applicants. About 754 houses have been allotted and 224 houses have been handed over. Houses are available for allotment on open counter sale in this scheme. Details of open counter scheme is enclosed in annexure 5 & 6.

(c) MILAKPUR GUJAR: The land for the Scheme is situated to the South fringe of Dharuhera – Pawal Road and East of Bhagat Singh Colony on the main Tijara-Alwar Road. The total land area under the scheme is nearly 390 Bighas. 266 houses of different categories have been planned by the Head Office. The work of EWS 96 and LIG – 80 houses are under progress and near completion stage and 77 Houses allotted.

 

INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES:

In the scheme at CHS Bhiwadi, most of the construction work was carried out by making maximum use of local material such as lime & stone. This was primarily done to keep the cost for the houses to a bare minimum. In 1991, the Board decided to adopt new techniques in the construction and thus besides using local material, is now also making use of the concrete blocks in masonary which results in better quality and increases the place of the construction, as well.

The salient features of the colonies doveloped by the Board are the all the basic amenities are available close by for the residents. The amenities provided are:

Good schools like Modern St. Xaviers, Raman Munja Col. Satsangi, Central Academy and Govt. Schools I.T.I. etc. are with in the city Town.

With good Telephone Exchange electronic with 5000 lines and also within Delhi’s mobile phone range. Already on local dialing to Gurgaon.

Transportation
Road Transport well connected at Dharuhera on NH 8 and with Alwar – Delhi road at Bhiwadi Mod.
Rewari (Haryana) is the nearest Railway Station which is about 25 Km.
